This study was carried out among 526 persons who have no pervious history of AMD. Asking the food frequency questions validated the study. In this study it was found that if the total carbohydrate intake is held constant then there are more chances of eyes being getting old is reduced by two folds. This diet taken was a Low GI diet. Thus, the persons prone to having AMD can control and delay this phenomenon's for its disability and its cost.

Thus, it is concluded that persons who are suffering from AMD and the persons who are prone to suffering the AMD disease can greatly benefit from having low GI diet. They can not only keep their eyes in good health but can do that for the long time.
