A low GI diet is basically a diet that contains carbohydrate that release glucose in the body in a gradual manner. Here GI is referred as Glycemic index, which is a tool to measure the amount of glucose that is released in the blood by the carbohydrate food. Various carbohydrate foods are tested for their GI index and a chart is made. This chart comprises of a Low GI level, Medium GI level and High GI level. This chart helps for people to use products, which are good for their health. A low GI diet is considered as a healthy food as it has all the necessary proteins minus the fats. Apart from that it helps to keep the person, especially weight conscious persons fuller for a long time. That means the person does not carve for food after a short interval of time.

Bodybuilding is a way of living healthy by having a body that has a muscular built. People do various weight-training exercises to build muscles of their body. Apart from that they require a good amount of protein rich diet to build the muscles. There is a common dilemma that a High carbohydrate diet is the best way of having protein in the body that has zero fats. But it is found that these products have a High GI levels in them. That means more amounts of glucose are released in quick amount of time, which is stored in the body in terms of fats.

Benefits of Low GI diet in bodybuilding:

However, a Low GI diet releases glucose in the body gradually. This leads to low insulin production in the body and low production of insulin stimulates the growth hormone in the body. As the growth hormone is released that requires energy. This energy is made available by the body fats. Now body is forced to burn fats. Thus, a body builder taking a low GI diet shed the fats in his body and from that fats the muscles of the body are built. A Low GI diet is also a healthy food as it is high in protein and has essential vitamins. Hence, it is essential to have a Low GI diet in order to build the muscles in quick amount of time. A planned Low GI diet in regular intervals in the day helps the body to built muscles in the best possible manner.
